A Cheaper Car Insurance Quote If You Shop Around

January 21, 2010

Cheaper car insurance quotes are possible if you shop around, and give yourself and the insurance companies that you request information from, time to get the right information to you. Last minute insurance shopping isn’t a good idea if you want the best price possible to cover the most comprehensive insurance policy available.

No one likes paying out for insurance, especially car insurance when you notice how other drivers drive. Isn’t it funny the way we always comment on other drivers doing strange or dangerous behaviours on the road but rarely do we note our own driving behaviour. I am quite sure I probably have some not-so-good behaviours too but no one has yet had to mention them to me so I must be passable. I have been driving for 42 incident-free years so I must have either been alert, lucky or both.

But you can bet that any passenger travelling with you, especially another driver, does notice. There are some drivers that I simply refuse to allow to drive me anywhere any more. It is so much easier on my nervous system if I drive us wherever we are going. It’s either that or not going anywhere with my friend and I like her too much to avoid her company but she insists that she’s really a good driver and I know for a fact that she isn’t. So, as her friend, what should I do?

I have suggested to her that she gets a few extra items covered in her insurance policy. Sometimes the cheapest car insurance policy is not the most suitable and I was very pleased last week when she told me she had started shopping around for quotes that included the extra coverage and she was surprised to find that they weren’t that much more expensive.

If she hadn’t started shopping around for the best free car insurance quote a month before her premium was due, she would never have known how little extra those inclusions really were going to cost her. Now I have a bit of peace of mind when I hear of her driving into the country to visit her family, but I still prefer to drive the both of us around.

Good insurance coverage is no replacement for good driving habits.

Got something to say?
