Choosing the Right Paint Can Make a Big Difference to Your Interior Design Projects

These days there are so many different types of paint that it can be hard to figure out which one is best. However, when it comes to interior design, the type of paints that you use can make a big difference to what the overall project looks like in the end. Satin effect, Gloss, Emulsions - there are so many options to choose from. You will also have trouble choosing colours if you’re anything like me!

Choosing the right paint is hard because there are so many options available - you’ll be spoilt for choice. The colour ranges these days are incredible and you can even get paint mixed to be a specific colour that you want. The options are almost limitless and although this is great - it can also be frustrating.

As well as different colours, you will have to decide on the finish you want. At the moment, the most popular finishes are silk and satin because they provide a nice sheen to the wall and it looks stunning if it’s done properly. However, you may want a more textured finish, in which case standard emulsion should do the job.

It’s all about what you want to achieve but just remember that the decisions you make will make a dramatic impact on the finished look so it’s important to get it right. Make your decisions based on style and price - this is the best way to narrow down the options available on today’s market.

Set yourself a budget and work with that as long as you have set yourself a realistic budget. If you have no idea how much paint costs then it’s a good idea to consider looking in the shops for a while before you set a budget. Just remember that the higher quality the paint, the more expensive it’ll be.

Consider all your options before you make a decision and make sure that you are aware of everything available on today’s market so that you can make an informed decision. Sometimes it’s easier to ask an expert but mostly it should be your decision considering it’s your home that you’re working on.
