How To Know What Boots To Buy

Depending what material the boot is made from will determine the level of protection the boot will give the rest of your foot. This material will also significantly play a role in the overall weight of the boot. Typically, most women’s steel toe boots are made of either Gortex, canvas, rubber or leather. Gortex and canvas are generally the lighter of these materials but the ideal boot to choose must depend on your activities for which you need the boot.

Most safety boots come with a rating insignia on them which let you know for what purpose the boots were intended. For example some are rated for electrical hazards, others are water resistant while still others are designed to be anti static. So you can see that even though you ideally would like to wear the lightest pair you can find, this may not be in your best interest when it comes to keeping your feet safe within your particular working environment.
