Jing Project Review - A Great Way to Share and Videos on Your Desktop

April 12, 2009

Do you want to let people see some pictures from your Desktop? Do you want to teach people how to use a program by making a video on it? Jing Project will help you do this. It is great software that lets you capture images and videos directly from your desktop and share it to your friends instantly. But before you download it, read this review. But why bother reading this review? This review will help you tell whether or not this software is useful for you.

The Jing Project lets you capture images on your desktop instantly. You can take a picture of a region, pane or a window. Once you took a picture, you can add try emphasizing on some regions of the picture to make a point. You can add shapes, highlights, arrows and a text box on a photo. You can also instantly share your pictures by uploading it to Screencast.com. You may also share the uploaded pictures via email, forum posts and even IM. It automatically sends you a link on the uploaded picture so all you have to do is to copy and paste the link.

It is also able to take videos of your desktop. Similar to the camera function, you can also take videos of a window, pane or a region. The video can capture any activities on the desktop such as mouse cursor movements, and other applications. You can even record your voice to narrate what you are currently doing on the desktop. But you must have a microphone for this. You can also upload the videos to Screencast.com.

Perhaps the only disadvantage of Jing Project is that it saves the video in SWF format. You Tube and other websites that lets you upload videos does not support SWF format. But Jing is for free, so there’s not much to complain about.

Got something to say?
