Known Vs Unknown Network Marketers
September 16, 2009
Over time I began to recognize the ‘known’ names in network marketing, up and coming marketers and those who have been around for years. They’re everywhere you turn, in every direction.
The skilled and ‘in training’ marketers of today are absolutely brilliant, those who take the time to develop their minds and absorb the knowledge needed to be successful by offering great value to others. It’s the unknown, rainbow chasers gives me thoughts of opening my inbox this morning and having 11 emails unknown from people I’ve never heard of asking me to send money over sea’s, join the next hottest 2×6x4×2…newest matrix that’s going to make everybody rich… yadda yadda.
How did the experienced marketers figure it all out?
That question had personally taken me a long time to figure out… they learned the skills how to take the selling out of their business and focused on giving value, trust and creating, developing and building relationships. They were connecting the dots between themselves and their companies by not taking a giant leap trying to sell ’stuff’; they were building a bridge one brick at a time.
Back in 2002 when I opened my first of 3 fitness centers, I used to think success on the internet was like taking our buddy/buddy trip to Vegas every six months with about $400 bucks to our name …yeah baby, it was all about the luck and the fingers crossed behind your back…right?
Ha! I lost my money all 3 times we traveled and realized I wasn’t a very lucky person at all. It’s kind of like all the programs I joined online in my first couple years online, I was a sucker for the idea of rolling the triple 777’s, I’d throw money everywhere that caught my attention…instead of doing my homework and research who the person was I was soon to be recruited by…yippee for Google ! Now everybody can be their own private detective, all the information’s right at your finger tips. People are getting educated to do research first, ask questions later.
To skip ahead, it wasn’t till I stopped with my back was up against the wall and stuck in a corner did I change the pattern I was in. It was the lack of strategies I was using why I was failing and that’s when I realized things had to change…I had to learn from people who knew the skills and could teach me how to do the same. The known become this way because of trust and the relationships they build, the listening skills, advice and value they offer. It’s making sure value is offered first, to teach and mentor new skills for others to grow and develop their minds.
95% of marketers will always be unknown, maybe even 99% solely because they haven’t taken the time to learn the “skills” required. Are people too much in a rush? Maybe. Don’t know who to trust? Sure. Promised riches and fell bust? Absolutely. Until the decision is made to learn valuable needed skills and then follow through, things will not change.
For those who teach value, skills and reach out to help others…thank you, if you haven’t heard it already today. If you’re trying to find your place online, the next time you receive an unknown email…use the trusted delete button or make sure you do some P.I homework to be prepared.
For those who are taking the steps to make it happen…
Keep Rockin!
