OLED TV - Will it Bring Us to the Future?

February 15, 2010

We have got a long way to go until summertime but the slim festival is already on! It’s neither on the seashore of Barbados nor in the ramp way of London on fashion week, but in the technological arena of consumer-electronics gadgets. In this coliseum of technological breakthroughs, supremacy is exhibited through three crucial factors: design, quality output, and cost efficiency. Both plasma and LCD TV have proven themselves capable to deliver these three over time, showing maturity and big commercial success. But nothing else in the scene is making a louder noise, than the new technology breakthrough: OLEDs (organic light-emitting diodes).

Technology business giants Samsung, Sony, and Toshiba are currently in the race towards who will reign supreme in the OLED TV production business. After years of research and development, several promises have been laid out to set OLED apart from other display technology, such as, 10 times sharper screen, less energy consumption, better contrast, and blur free action pictures. With a sleek body no one could resist, OLED TV is poised to provide the public with top-notch entertainment that people will opt to spread this skinny baby out in their living room to replace their plasma or LCD.

Got something to say?
