Ready for Halloween?

November 2, 2009

Halloween is a holiday that is enjoyed by all ages. There are lots of children and adult parties going on at this time. Many people do scary things around this time and a lot do jokes. Some people push things to far and might cause problems later because of it. When you are going out, there are some tips that you should remember.

Before you leave, make sure that everything is locked up. People often forget because they are in a hurry and want to get there by a certain time. Double check your windows and make sure that they are closed tight. Put money away in a safe place and don’t have it out on counter tops.

Get a couple of flashlights and have them in your car just in case something happens. If you are walking, you will need to carry one with you in your pocket. Check the batteries and make sure that they are working before you leave the house.

Don’t let your pets go outside when it’s Halloween. Like I said, many people do jokes and sometimes they are not just on humans but on animals. You don’t want your pet to be in the middle of a cruel joke. Most states have laws about this but there’s still a chance that your pet might get hurt if they are outside this day or night.

If you don’t have a cell phone, you should think about getting a prepaid one for around twenty dollars or so at the store. Charge up the batteries and keep it with you at all times. Give a friend your number and try to call at least one person during the middle of the night.

When you are doing a joke on someone, don’t take it to far. If you see they are not enjoying it, show some respect and stop. Be very careful if you are playing a joke on a senior citizen. Make sure that their health could handle it and that they would find it amusing. If they don’t laugh a lot or don’t seem like the person that couldn’t take a joke, avoid doing one on them and find someone else that would enjoy it.

Remember that Halloween is a night of fun and getting spooked but keep a close eye on things going on around you. If something happens that you don’t like, go ahead and go home. Don’t stay there just because it’s Halloween and you want some candy.

Got something to say?
