The Importance of a Good Webpage For Successful Internet Marketing

February 8, 2009

Internet Marketing, for many people, can be the start of an exciting new career. You’ve read up on all it entails and all you’ll need to do to be successful. You’ve learned about web page design, getting a domain name, SEO, importance of keywords or AdWords, article writing and all that good stuff. You now feel you know it all and it sounds pretty easy so you’re ready to be a success.

In internet marketing, some things are more important than others. It may just be my opinion, but your webpage is one of the most important things for the success of your internet marketing business. If you walked into a store that was dreary, ugly and disorganized, you may still purchase their products but they’d probably have to be some excellent bargains for you to want to come back to that store. Consider your webpage as your store. You’ve gone through a lot of effort to get people to your webpage. Now it’s up to you to keep them interested in what you have on your webpage and interested enough to return.

Many people that build their own web pages tend to go with their favorite colors and designs. While this is great for their “personal” webpage, a business webpage needs to be attractive to everyone. You don’t want a webpage that’s dreary or bordering on “scary” (unless you’re selling Halloween costumes!). The emphasis should be on your products and content rather than on the design of your webpage. Make it as simple as possible while still making it attractive. It should also be easy to navigate for the viewer. All that traffic flow you’ve worked so hard to get won’t do much good if they want to get away from your page as quickly as possible. Lastly, always update your webpage so they know you’re still in business.
